*It's showtime in Manic's room again, and things look a little different this time. The Mobian child-sized drum set is pushed up against the wall now and the room is marginally cleaner this time. ... MARGINALLY. In the middle of the floor, parts, tools, and assorted odds and ends are spread about, with the room's resident and the orange and yellow casing of what appears for be the start of a Gear at the center of the mess*

*The hedgehog is not a child, however, but rather he is still the teenager he was at the tail end of the curse. Thus, he voice is deeper when he speaks*

Man, buildin' a Gear is harder than I thought it'd be. Think it's time for a break...

*He rises to his feet, delicately tiptoes over the veritable minefield of junk on the floor, then flops down on the couch. He then reaches over and grabs a thin stack of take-out menus sticking out from under a couch cushion and looks through them*

*Once again, a laptop is showing Manic's room. All you really get to see, though, is him and what's on his desk. In addition to jeweler's screwdrivers, blueprints, and bits of wire, there's a single gold bracelet lying on it. A second bracelet is in his hands. He closes a small panel on it, then screws it down with a tiny screw and one of the screwdrivers. He gives it one last once-over and *

Haha, that should do it! Supes should be happy t'hear these babies are ready--gkk!

*He lurches forward. The feed dissolves into static for several moments. When it stabilizes again, it doesn't appear anything at all has changed; the only hint something's wrong is the confused expression Manic wears*

... buh. The heck just happened?

*Squints at the bracelet in his hand*

Where'd I get the bling?

*a beat, then he takes off the glasses he's wearing*

Not t'mention these. *plucks at the shirt he's wearing* An' this too. I know I wasn't wearin' any of this before... What on Mobius is goin' on?

*It's been a while since the computer last caught the little green hedgehog on camera, but his room is largely unchanged since the last time. There's still boxes of miscellaneous scrap for his building projects here and there, and his flowers--including one large, smiling, singing sunflower--are alive and well on his desk. The little green hedgehog himself is at his desk, drawing some diagrams for what some may recognize as inhibitors and an Air Ride-model Extreme Gear*

*The little green hedgehog isn't quite so little anymore, however. He's taken to wearing clothing, and the pair of glasses he's wearing are new too. He removes his glasses and rubs his eyes*

Nn, that should do it, then... If I don't get 'em done, maybe someone here can...

*he gets up and stretches with a big yawn*

Now, the eternal question: sleep or snackage?

Uh... Dudes? Is it just me, or does it look like everyone started hookin' up with each other all at once? I mean, we didn't have, like, ANY couples among us before V-Day, 'cept maybe pink man an' that one blue dude, an' now everyone but me's pairin' off an' bein' all lovey-dovey kissy-gropey at each other. It's cool an' all if it's just one big coincidence, but doesn't anyone else think it's kinda strange this is happenin' all at once?

I dunno, man. It just seems too consistent t'be coincidence t'me. If I'm wrong, congrats t'all the new happy couples.

*At first, all you get is a stunning close-up of Manic's face as he adjust where the camera's pointing. He looks over his shoulder, then back to the camera and, satisfied, nods. He's still not backing away just yet, though...*

That should do it~ So, guys, my eBay auctions went pretty darned well, so I bought myself a lil' somethin~

*Steps back and slightly off to the side, revealing a rather nice drum set for someone his size, along with the usual clutter that litters the room. He pats the set fondly*

Ain't it awesome? An' I didn't steal it, so it's not gonna poof on me like everything else did durin' that weirdness. I've been practicin' too, tho' the peeps around me prob'ly knew that already~ *laughs* I'm gonna play y'all somethin', while I've got your attention, so it's your job t'tell me if I suck or not.

*sits himself behind the drums and takes out a pair of drumsticks. He gives one a twirl before he launches into a song. He's not perfect, but he does well for someone his age who hasn't had a proper drum set until recently*

*the boy's room is surprisingly free of clutter this time around, mostly because there's next to nothing left after the curse took its toll. The little cactus with a face on the pot is still on his desk, and there's still a cardboard box full of odds and ends on the floor. By the couch, there are three objects: a pair of largish video game consoles, and what appears to be a flame-red working model Dalek. The boy is at the desk, crossing his fingers and biting his lip as he tries to download pictures from a digital camera connected to the computer*

Hurryuphurryuphurryup--YES!

*a notice pops up above the camera, reading, "Do you want to renew your subscription? Y/N"*

Nope, you can go!

*the camera then vanishes*

All right, now to hit eBay...

*The video clicks on a hotel room. Scattered around the room are various boxes and bags of chips, candies, and other snacks; wires, bits of metal, and other mechanical odds and ends; some comics and a small handheld game machine; and one very large plush turtle lies on the bed. The desk, however, is marginally neater. Aside from a small set of worn tools, all that is on it are plants: a large African violet plant, a mini rose bush with pink roses, some sort of blue wildflower, and an aloe vera plant. The aloe plant has a pair of fake ears and googly eyes pasted on the pot and a smile drawn in below the eyes with marker*

*the door opens and the little green hedgehog enters, a large, battered paper bag in his arms. When the door's secured, he drops the bag on the floor with a heavy thud and some clattering*

There! That should be enough t'play around with~

*He looks around the room briefly, and, satisfied he's alone, quietly closes the laptop. The screen goes black, but the sound of it being tucked under his vest and footsteps can be heard...*

... huh? *strikes the same one a couple more times, and nothing* Weird...

*strikes a different one, which makes a "pling!", then a cymbal, which sounds like a gunshot*

Oh for...

*puts his foot down, accidentally making the largest drum sound off with a long, drawn-out "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!"

*grumbles* Dude, this is so not cool.

Well, those are new, as well as the clothes he wears. Aside from the usual medallion and traffic-cone orange vest he wears, he has on a white turtleneck and, although it can't be seen just yet, PANTS. He leans back, yawns, and stretches*

A pair of seemingly ordinary motorcycles are parked parallel to each other: one embellished with a purple tribal pattern, the other with green flames. A crate of spare parts lies somewhere nearby, as well as two large ribbons that didn't quite get a change to be put on bikes. The green hedgehog has fallen asleep against the crate, a fluffy blanket half on him. Tools are scattered around him. He mumbles a song in his sleep...*

*he stirs at this, wearily blinking his eyes*

mood: SHINY!!

*The green hedgehog stands in one of the hallways of the hotel, a remote in hand. The projectors he's been installing to help the resident computer-bound AIs of the building get around hang from the ceiling, but for some reason they look slightly different, not to mention pixelly...*

All right, let's bring 'em online an' start with the tests~

*presses a button on the remote. The machine hum to life and... grow eyes?! Suddenly, they teleport to the floor all at once and fire sparks at a rigid 45-degree angle. The hedgehog avoids the sparks that fade into nothing when they hit the floor, rather than setting a fire. When he jumps back to do so, a familiar "pling!" is heard*

Wh-what the hell?! And what was that--

*turns around and sees a row of gold rings straight down the hallway, all shiny and round and shiny and big and shiny...*

...

*he looks around to see if anyone's watching, then darts down the hallway, avoiding the machines and grabbing the rings, which make the the same happy "pling" sounds even once he's out of sight*

Y'know, if that was really my future, the future's pretty awesome, man~ The world's free again, mom was finally found, they were makin' progress in givin' the roboticized peeps their free will back, an' I found myself a pretty awesome career. Dude, it was totally fun bein' the biggest transvestite star since RuPaul, man! Maybe now I can finally put all those old worries t'rest...

So, anyone else have a good experience with the curse?
